GX1: The Colosseum – Rome
A common challenge when capturing point cloud data is the presence of people, cars, and other moving objects that create significant noise in the final dataset.
As part of Emesent’s global roadshow to launch the Emesent GX1, our team took the opportunity to scan the Colosseum in Rome, Italy.
This popular tourist destination sees 20,000 - 30,000 visitors
each day, though you wouldn't know it by looking at this clean & highly detailed point cloud.
Captured in 30 minutes with a backpack-mounted GX1, then cleaned and processed in Emesent Aura, this is an excellent example of the level of architectural detail that can be achieved with the Emesent GX1.
